SMIPL was started in 2009 with the blessings of Late Sh. Manoj Gupta. The founding principle was straightforward — deliver quality work at minimal cost, and let the clients do the marketing through referrals. That model worked. Today most of our engagements still come through existing-client introductions.
From panels to AI — sixteen years of scope expansion.
We began with electrical panel fabrication and basic CCTV integration. Over the years, as clients trusted us with larger and more complex scopes, we expanded into SCADA, HVAC, data centres, hydro-power EPC — and most recently, full AI-enabled Integrated Command & Control Centres for the Coal India group.
What connects every capability is a simple operating principle: nothing critical is outsourced. We own our R&D bench, panel shop, tower-erection crews and service teams. When something needs to be fixed at a remote site at 2 AM, an SMIPL engineer is the one showing up.
Debt-free, and designed to stay that way.
In 16 years of operation, SMIPL has never taken a bank loan or overdraft facility. Every project is funded by internal accruals and promoter capital. It's an unfashionable model — most EPC companies lever aggressively — but it's deliberate. When a PSU pays on milestones across an 18-month execution cycle, cash discipline is what keeps the lights on at site.
